Description

Switch-mode power supply with pulsing capability 2 kW CW/ 8kW pulsing

The PM740 unit is suitable to drive a 2 kW magnetron, like the 2M130 or similar, and it has the capability to work as a continuous or as a pulsed power supply unit. The two working mode -continuous and pulsed- are quite different. While in continuous mode the unit works as a controlled, d.c. source for the magnetron, which sets its working voltage, in pulsed mode the unit, is able to supply the pre-set mean current at a given frequency with an adjustable duty factor. The duty factor represents the ratio between ON and OFF status. The peak current value is the result of mean current value divided by the duty factor. I.e: mean output current 200 mA, duty factor 1/4 = 800 mA peak value of the pulse applied to magnetron at the chosen frequency. The unit is controlled by a powerful microprocessor board, which allows setting and adjusting all the parameters (output current, pulse frequency, duty factor, etc). The user interface is a graphic display, led backlighted, with an optical encoder which act as the adjustable device (similar to a potentiometer) and three panel push-buttons, all located on the front panel. The display provides status and set point information, alarm codes, as well as output power value. The unit has an internal pulse generator to provide pulsing capability, avoiding the user having to provide for an external one.

FAQ 
AVF1My PM740T shows an "Arc detector" alarm but the input of the arc detector is grounded. How can i fix it?
